Graveyard
Ideas I loved that, for various reasons, weren’t brought to life. May they rest in peace here.
When Taylor Swift released The Tortured Poets Department track list, the song titled Florida!!! caught our eye. My team proactively sold a guerrilla style idea to install !!! on Florida signage around the state to provide Swifties a massive photo op to celebrate the song and new album.
Alas, when TTPD officially dropped, lyrics like “Florida is one hell of a drug”, “Fuck me up Florida”, and sentiments like burying an ex and all your regrets didn’t quite align with Florida tourism brand standards. Our idea died a very swift death.
New Year promos are like the Super Bowl for Planet Fitness. They sponsor Times Square, push for major PR, and typically run a $1 Down membership offer. For NYE 2022, I pitched a 50¢ Down concept with 50 Cent recreating scenes from his In Da Club music video inside a Planet Fitness. Fiddy was past his prime (aka affordable), but the idea never moved forward.
That February, 50 Cent made a surprise appearance at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem… hanging upside down to recreate his iconic “In Da Club” moment while performing the hit. This one still hurts.
We came up with the Whopper Swapper activation because malted milk balls can’t satisfy real Whopper cravings.
To give our audience what they really want for Halloween, we’d lean into TikTok’s popular image response feature: just comment on our social post with a pic of your unwanted candy whoppers, and we'll DM a code for a free BK Whopper.
RIP due to trademark yadda yadda.
